Furious 7 buggy crops up on sale

An all-terrain vehicle created specifically for the seventh installment of the Fast and Furious action movie saga is being sold at an auction in the United States right now. The bidding has reached $35,000 so far.

The vehicle features an extremely simple design – a stainless-steel tubular space-frame overlaid with lightweight glass-fiber plastic panels. The heavy-duty suspension has plenty of travel and comes with height-adjustable springs tuned for extreme off-roading. Overhangs are basically non-existent.

Power for the exotic buggy comes from a 6.2-liter LS3 V8 by General Motors. You can encounter this kind of engine in a Chevrolet Corvette or Camaro, for example. In its implementation here, it delivers 435 PS (430 hp / 321 kW) to the rear wheels through a 3-speed AT.

Disc brakes, off-road tires, reinforced wheels, a Sparco steering wheel, two racing seats and custom dash instruments round off the build. The buggy is not street-legal and is missing many production car features, like proper head- and taillights.

The Fast and Furious filming crew ordered six such vehicles created for Furious 7, but only three are said to have survived the filming. Jason Statham can be seen piloting one in the movie, but the auction listing neglects to mention whether it was this specific example or a different one.
