Hennessey gives Chevy Silverado a 50% power bump

The Texan tuning company has released an option package for the latest Chevrolet Silverado 1500. It’s called the Hennessey H600 and revamps every aspect of the truck, from the exterior to the drivetrain.

Starting with the big change, the 6.2-liter L87 V8 under the hood is no longer naturally aspirated with 420 PS (414 hp / 309 kW). Instead, it uses a twin-scroll supercharger to output 625 PS (616 hp / 460 kW) to the wheels. The torque likewise goes up from 624 to 828 Nm (from 460 to 610 lb-ft). This is accomplished with the help of an air-to-water intercooler, a stainless-steel sports exhaust system and ECU tweaks.

The exterior looks fairly modest by the tuner’s standards, but you can still tell that the truck is tuned thanks to “Hennessey”, “H600” and “Supercharged” badges. The example seen here also rides on custom 22-inch wheels and sits lower than stock. To keep things stable, Hennessey Performance Engineering suggests also ordering a rear stabilizer and upgraded brakes.

Preorders are already running. As usual, body kits and interior overhauls are available upon request.
