This four-decade-old DeLorean DMC-12 has stayed with one family its entire life and hardly ever went for a ride.

With 4,653 kilometers (2,891 miles) on the odometer, the car still wears its original tire set manufactured in October 1981. It appears that the seller’s claim about the coupe never changing hands once is valid: it looks pristine both on the outside and in the cabin. The latter is rather well-equipped with a cassette-based audio player, an AC and power windows.

Driving the wheels is a 2.9-liter V6 rated at 132 PS (130 hp / 98 kW). The standard car shipped with a five-speed manual transmission, but this one was optioned with a three-speed automatic. Even back in its glory days, it was by no means a fast runner, taking 10.5 seconds to go from zero to 96.6 km/h (60 mph).

There is every reason to expect this car to sell well. In late July, a nearly identical DMC-12 with 900 km (559 miles) under its belt fetched $106,500. That one had also belonged to its original buyer for four decades.
