Elon Musk’s Roadster greets unexpected competition from China

Dreame, a Chinese brand of electric household appliances, caused quite some ripples through the industry when it announced its very own hypercar in 2025. It started off looking like a long-lost Bugatti Chiron twin, but was later given its own identity by the company. More intriguingly, it also ended up with actual jet thrusters – like a space rocket.

According to Dreame, the twin thrusters installed at the rear end of the hypercar are capable of producing mountain-moving 100,000 Newton-meters (73,756 pound-feet) of torque. This is allegedly enough to get from standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 0.9 seconds, a world’s first. Then again, the company has yet to show us any actual field tests and explain how it plans to keep the car from taking off like the rocket it is.

When it isn’t trying to impress the other drivers (or melt them into a puddle, such as it is), the Nebula Next 01 uses a conventional all-electric powertrain for getting around. Its specifications remain to be disclosed, but the company claims that a next-generation solid-state battery will grant it around 550 kilometers (342 miles) on a full charge.

Other features mentioned during the show debut included steering by wire, intelligent racing-grade chassis and suspension, and smart object recognition within a 600-meter (1,970-foot) radius of the car, dropping down to 300 meters (985 feet) for smaller objects like potholes and other road imperfections. Once has to wonder how relevant that is when your 0-60 mph time is less than 900 milliseconds.

When will Dreame’s first hypercar reach the market and how much will it cost? Your guess is as good as ours. What we do know is that the company has production plans for other, marginally less exotic vehicles as well, such as quad-motor luxury off-road SUVs.
