Ferrari 599 gets $1.1M in tuning options

UK-based tuning company Talos has unveiled its next project: the Ferrari XXT. Using the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano as the starting point, it modifies its exterior, suspension and engine output to meet the modern drivers’ expectations. Only five units will be made and offered starting from £850,000 (roughly $1.1 million), and that’s not even including the 599 GTB itself.

All new aero parts come fabricated from carbon fiber. The list includes assorted air intakes and vents, wheel arch extensions with fenders, new bumpers, a diffuser, a new hood and a large fixed rear wing. A set of 20-inch forged wheels with a golf finish complements the sporty exterior aesthetic.

The stock 6.0-liter V12 stays in place, but receives a tune-up from 620 to 684 PS (from 612 to 675 hp; from 456 to 503 kW, respectively). Talos reckons it should be good for a 3.5-second sprint from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph), which is two-tenths of a second better than the original. Öhlins components in the suspension result in a smoother and more modern ride, but the top speed stays capped at the standard 330 km/h (205 mph).

The tuner bills the Ferrari XXT as a “track machine for daily driving,” saying it was largely inspired by the Ferrari 599XX in that respect. The company argues that the astronomical price of the modifications is justified by more than just the components and the exclusivity value. For instance, clients can customize much more than just the exterior and the cabin – you can go for a bespoke exhaust system, roll cage or infotainment system, just to name a few possibilities.
