Ford asks Chinese designers what their dream Mustang looks like

The China branch of Ford has held a design competition to explore what the country’s residents think the next Mustang generation should be like.

Participation was limited to 25 students from 22 higher education institutions. Ford picked three works that it considered the best, promising to develop them into full-size concepts.

The picks included a three-door Shooting Brake, a mid-engined supercar, and a futuristic racer running on a F1 chassis with aerodynamic cowlings on all four wheels. Just how these design studies may influence the next Mustang generation remains to be seen.
