Part-electric Geely Galaxy M7 SUV presents exterior

Geely has posted some photos of its most anticipated mid-size crossover, the Galaxy M7. At the same time, some technical details appeared in China’s patent database, so let’s take a look.

The M7 sports a rather low-drag front end with an integrated radiator grille, slim headlights connected with an LED strip, and matching taillights in the back. It is sized 4,770 x 1,905 x 1,985 mm (186.3 x 74.4 x 77.5 inches) large with 2,785 mm (108.8 inches) between the axles.

Speaking of which: the recently refreshed gas-powered Geely Boyue L crossover has virtually identical looks and dimensions. We suspect the two may share most of their equipment if this is true, but will refrain from conclusions for now.

Inside, the front panel, the door cards and the HVAC deflectors look like those in the Boyue L. At the same time, the transmission tunnel layout and the steering wheel are completely different. For the powertrain, the new Galaxy M7 relies on a 1.5-liter, naturally aspirated engine with 112 PS (110 hp / 82 kW) and a single unspecified electric motor. All-electric range amounts to 225 km (140 miles) thanks to a big 29.8-kWh battery pack on board, and filling the gas tank extends it to 1,730 km (1,075 miles), the manufacturer claims.

The premiere is expected to take place in a few months.
