The first GWM-branded supercar boasts tech advancements

Great Wall Motor (GWM) has unveiled a chassis at the Beijing expo that it intends to use for a mass-produced hybrid supercar in 2027. Some details have already leaked, and it’s looking rather impressive.

Great Wall’s first supercar is being envisioned with a 4.0-liter V8 mated to a transaxle transmission. The output of the engine is guaranteed to be no lower than 650 PS (641 hp / 478 kW), and that’s before taking the (still unannounced) electric part of the system into consideration.

Other noteworthy features mentioned include a carbon-fiber driveshaft, adaptive suspension, and dry sump. There are only a handful of images of the car seen on the walls of the exhibition booth in the gallery above, and the company admits that the final design may vastly differ from these early sketches. What GWM emphasizes is that it’s going to become “China’s first fully featured sports car” when it debuts next year. All pricing details will have to wait until the premiere.
