Multiple recalls of the all-electric Jaguar I-Pace left the British automaker with whole warehouses of these cars, but we didn’t think they’d all get destroyed.
The main issue that prompted the recalls was in the fire-prone LG battery cells. JLR tried to fix these at a software level at first, then made some hardware modifications, but was ultimately unable to eliminate the fire risk. As a result, the company started buying out all affected SUVs from their owners and sending them to warehouses for scrapping.
One of them is right here, in the video. In late 2024 alone, a total of 2,760 I-Pace units were recalled in the United States. A number of photos were posted several days ago, showing a similar warehouse in the UK.
