Lamborghini Fake-a-dor goes on sale in Russia

A homegrown Lambo Aventador replica based on Lexus GS chassis is up for grabs in Penza, Russia, for as little as 1.1 million rubles, or $14,900 USD. It is incomplete, though.

The seller does not reveal the dimensions of the vehicle, so there is no comparing it to its Italian source of inspiration. Power comes from a Toyota 1JZ engine rated at 250 PS (247 hp / 184 kW), although the ad mentions performance tweaks of some kind. An automatic transmission drives the rear wheels. In case you forgot, most recent Aventadors had 740 PS (730 hp / 544 kW), seven-speed DCT, and rear-wheel drive.

According to the seller, the wheels account for a more than a quarter of the price, because they are original Lamborghini. Whoever buys it will get a large package of components needed to finalize the project, but the owner warns that it will require major investments of time and effort. They even call the selling price ‘merely symbolic,’ claiming they had invested much more into the conversion.

Another Aventador replica based on a 16-year-old Pontiac GTO cropped up on sale in the USA for $49,000 and failed to sell – probably because of its weird proportions. It had 500 horsepower (373 kW / 507 PS) at its disposal.
