Top-of-the-line Land Rover Defender ‘SVX’ spied testing

Rumors emerged in the summer of 2021 that Land Rover was working on a new flagship spec of the Defender, apparently called the SVR. As it now turns out, the car does exist – but the badge is different.

According to motor.es, a prototype of a high-end Defender version has recently been spotted testing somewhere in Spain. It was wrapped in camo top to bottom, but had its lights partially exposed. From what little can be seen, we suspect the lighting is the same as in the current version (see video). The fender flares are bigger, though, the front bumper is new and the tires look as off-road-ready as ever. The ground clearance is hard to assess, but the company will likely tune the suspension or install the lift kit to differentiate the top spec from the rest.

According to motor.es, the model will debut in mid-2024 with an ‘SVX’ badge instead of SVR. For the powertrain, it could use BMW’s 4.4-liter V8 rated at 635 PS (626 hp / 467 kW).
