Lexus will attend the annual Goodwood Festival of Speed on June 23–26, 2022 with its prototype EV called Electrified Sport. The car will be a part of the Electric Avenue expo; Lexus does not specify whether it will attempt the famous hill climb.
Little is known about the production supercar to date. The automaker will make every effort to reduce its 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) sprint time to two seconds or even less while keeping the driving range close to 700 km (435 miles). If it succeeds, the model will be very competitive in its market niche.
When the Electrified Sport reaches production – no estimation exists at this time – it may take advantage of solid-state battery tech in order to deliver genuinely high levels of performance, per the manufacturer.
By the end of the decade, Lexus plans to electrify its entire China, Europe and North America lineups, and wrap selling ICE cars elsewhere by 2035.
