Rod Dahm has two epic Mazda RX-7 builds in his garage: a four-rotor one with AWD and a three-rotor one with RWD. The latter just tried its best against the formidable Ferrari 488 Pista.
At a first glance, you might think the two are a very poor match. In reality, however, tuning brings them closer than ever. The RX-7 slams the rear axle with 1,047 PS (1,033 hp / 770 kW) and 1,085 Nm (800 lb-ft) of torque. The Pista is no slouch itself, sending 740 PS (730 hp / 544 kW) to the asphalt. It also benefits from a rapid-fire seven-speed dual-clutch transmission that no stick can hope to rival.
Elsewhere, the Italian ride flaunts a Novitec aero kit and HRE forged rims. Rod does struggle with his manual gearbox during the first run, but puts some radial drag slicks on for the second run. Will it be enough? Watch and find out!
