Mercedes has only recently begun shipping the A 45 AMG (W177), but RENNtech Europe GmbH has spent enough time with the car to draw up a tuning plan for it.
Among other things, the German dealer claims it has found a way to chip-tune the hatchback’s engine. This is no small feat, considering that the M139 is currently the world’s most powerful turbocharged four-cylinder engine that is also mass-produced and road-legal. Specifically, RENNtech says it can persuade the mill to churn out stellar 475 hp (354 kW) and 575 Nm (424 lb-ft) of torque. If everything goes according to plan, the option should become available in the second half of January.
Tuner’s plans for the next few months include boosting the A45 AMG even further, likely to 550 hp (410 kW) or even 600 hp (447 kW). Of course, this would necessitate extensive improvements in the air intake, exhaust, and turbocharger systems.
As for the purely aesthetic accessories, some of these are already available. RENNtech stocks lowering kits and several wheel sets available in 19 and 20 inches. The wheels are available in alloy and forged forms; both are designed in Europe, but Vossen Wheels manufactures the forged variant in the USA. The show car depicted here sports RPS 10.2 Forged wheels with Infinity contrast rims.
