Mercedes-AMG GT R Black Series costs 2x the vanilla price

Following the recent debut of the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series, pre-orders have opened in Europe starting from €335,000 – almost twice the price of the AMG GT R it is based upon.

The base model packs 585 hp (436 kW) while the Black Series offers 730 hp (544 kW), but whether the difference is worth the premium is open to discussion. Opting for further luxury features will add another €20,000 or so to the total cost. For instance, the AMG Magma Beam paintjob shown on the photos here will set you back another €8,468, while a racetrack package incl. titanium roll cage, four-point safety belts and fire extinguisher would add another €7,540.

In earlier news, Mercedes promised to release an even more exclusive AMG GT R spec for everyone who preordered the Mercedes-AMG One. The so-called P One Edition comes in a batch of 275 production units priced €50,000 above the production model. The Black Series will also be limited, but the specific quantity remains unannounced.
