Mercedes-Benz has unveiled an electric remake of its C111 Concept dating back to 1970. The newcomer is called Vision One-Eleven and boasts a vivid-orange body just like its predecessor did, as well as gull-wing doors and state-of-the-art tech inside.
The interior is finished in white and silver with body-matched color accents all around. The dashboard is one solid display, and the steering “wheel” is a rectangular yoke. The manufacturer emphasizes that the concept supports Augmented Reality features.
As for the original C111 model, it was released in a small production batch of 16 units, out of which 13 were powered by a four-cylinder rotary engine, two others from diesels and the last one from a petrol V8. The company used them all as test mules.
In contrast, the Vision One-Eleven has four electric motors driving the wheels with 1,300 PS (1,282 hp / 956 kW) and is destined to remain a one-off.
