While introducing the next-generation L200/Triton truck (see video), Mitsubishi highlighted a handful of aftermarket modifications and all the different cab types. There is an off-roader on the list, an expedition truck and a performance pickup for well-paved roads.
The latter version is shown with an aggressive-looking carbon-fiber body kit including extended bumpers and wheel arches, extra air intakes, a spoiler and sporty wheels shod in Advan tires. The technical specifications were never revealed, but it only takes a single look at the low clearance and the performance brakes to realize that it’s a highway runner.
Other L200s exhibited included a camping truck with a tent raised above the roof of the cabin, a rugged off-roader with a protective body kit, and a couple of “workhorses” with single cabs, stretched beds and rear-wheel drive.
Rounding off the lineup is a rally truck for the Asia Cross Country championship. It has a widened track, two shocks per wheel, and a snorkel pipe.
Mitsubishi said it hoped that the 14 vehicles displayed would inspire owners to experiment with accessories and customize their trucks further. It also pointed out that the package of options turned out more extensive than ever before.
