Mazda teases the EZ-6, its first EV for China

Mazda has brought a new all-electric sedan to the show in Beijing, which it designed together with Changan and plans to sell on that company’s domestic market.

The EZ-6 is styled in a similar vein to the Mazda6 that it replaces. The body outlines are smooth and sporty, and there is an illuminated trim piece where the radiator grille used to be. The lighting all around is new, too, and 19-inch wheels wear low-resistance tires. The company also mentions a retractable rear spoiler, but it’s not in the photos.

A peek inside reveals seats with enhanced lateral support, built-in headrests and leg supports. There is a wide center tunnel, a squared-off steering wheel and a 14.6-inch infotainment display.

At 4,921 mm long, 1,890 mm wide and 1,485 mm tall, the electric EZ-6 is much larger than the Mazda6. The remaining specifications will be announced closer to the sales launch in the second half of the year, Mazda says.
