Nissan Magnite conquers South Africa

Nissan originally released its Magnite CUV in India, where it quickly proceeded to become a hit with 50,000+ pre-orders in five months. The model is now also available to order in the South African Republic.

The Magnite debuted last fall based the CMF-A platform used by other Nissans as well as some Mitsubishi and Renault cars. It is a subcompact car at 3,998 mm long, 1,758 mm wide and 1,572 mm tall with 2.5 meters between the axles and 205 mm of ground clearance.

The SAR version will only be available with a 99-PS (98-HP / 73-kW) turbo engine under the hood, which can be mated to a five-speed manual transmission or CVT. The version for India also ships with a naturally aspirated engine worth 72 PS (71 HP / 53 kW). The front axle is the only one to be driven in all cases.
