John Sarkisyan, a U.S. actor and car tuning aficionado, has shown us a gorgeous imitation of the Porsche 911 (993) Speedster. The car started its life as a 993 Convertible, but was thoroughly remodeled afterwards.
The 993 Series never included any kind of mass-produced Speedster model, but Porsche has actually built two such vehicles as exceptions. One of these went to Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, company founder’s grandson, as his 60th anniversary gift, while the other one was handed over to Jerry Seinfeld, a North American stand-up comedian and loyal Porsche fan.
According to Sarkisyan, the conversion cost a substantial amount of money. He ended up paying U.S. $50,000 for the windshield alone and another $2,000 for something as simple as the sealing gaskets.
The all-carbon body kit, notably including the custom aprons, flared fenders, side skirts and numerous other details, also took its toll.
The Porsche 911 (993) Speedster rides on a set of exclusive Fifteen52 Magnus Walker Outlaw forged wheels that John had apparently asked to be painted over three times before he was finally satisfied with the result.
The stock 3.6-liter inline-six engine got a boost from 270 hp (201 kW) to 315 hp (235 kW), but the sprint times were not measured.
The cabin of the unique speedster also boasts a bespoke trim, which involves caramel-tinted leather, Recaro’s newest bucket seats, and a plethora of modern mods.
