Porsche Cayenne muscles up for wilderness trips

Tuning firm EuroWise has released its Ultra EVO program for the Cayenne SUV, turning it from an asphalt-locked luxobarge into a fairly capable off-roader. It included both purely stylistic and functional improvements.

Starting with the petrol V8 under the hood, the tuner upfitted it with an aftermarket dual-turbo setup, an intercooler, a high-flow exhaust system and tweaked control software. As a result, the output rose to 659 PS (650 hp / 485 kW) and 1,017 Nm (750 lb-ft) of torque.

On the exterior side of things, there’s no mistaking this Cayenne for stock thanks to a rather extreme-looking carbon body kit making it whopping 8 inches (204 mm) wider. Aside from flared fenders, it includes all-new bumpers, brush guards, undercarriage protection, auxiliary LED lighting and a sturdy-looking roof rack. Last but not least, a spare wheel holder was mounted at the tailgate.

Then there’s the suspension, which EuroWise claims was rebuilt from the ground up with off-road dampers and long-travel shocks to be viable on rough terrain.

In the video above, the team discusses the Cayenne’s cooling issues that they claim are present from the factory, as well as their proposed solution.
