Standard-issue Xiaomi SU7 runs 4,000+ km per day, sets record

Xiaomi, Chinese IT-giant-turned-automaker, has reported setting a new world record with its all-electric SU7 sedan. The car managed to cover 4,264 kilometers (2,649.5 miles) of ground in 24 hours.

Driven on a closed circuit, the EV would repeatedly accelerate up to 240 km/h (149 mph) and only stop for 15-minute charging sessions. The company insists that the car tested was a readily available production example refreshed for the current model year. Showrooms in China should start taking deliveries in April 2026.

The detailed specifications of the latest Xiaomi SU7 are being kept secret, but it’s already official that the entire model lineup has been reworked for superior power and battery range at once. The pre-facelift SU7 maxes out at 673 PS (664 hp / 495 kW) and roughly 800 km (500 miles) of range per charge.

The absolute record for the distance traveled by an EV in 24 hours still belongs to the Mercedes-AMG GT XX, which managed 5,479 kilometers (3,404 miles). However, that car is a meticulously optimized concept not suitable for mass production, whereas the Xiaomi is a market-ready EV.
