Subaru introduces Uncharted in the USA

Subaru North America has unveiled its latest mid-size SUV EV, the Uncharted. It looks much like the already available Toyota C-HR, is based on the same platform and tech, and is slated to go on sale in early 2026.

The dynamic roofline and the c-pillars are the biggest common points between the Uncharted and the C-HR. At the same time, the new crossover sports its own bumpers and lights. The headlights in particular remind us of the recently updated Solterra.

The Solterra is said to be roughly 180 mm (7 inches) longer than the Uncharted, which means the new car comes in at 4,510 mm (176.2 inches) or so. It’s still a bit longer than the Crosstrek.

The entry-level spec will ship with a single 224-PS (221-hp / 165-kW) motor on the front axle and a 74.7-kWh battery. It will have 492 km (305 miles) of range and will be available for a limited time only.

Later on, the Uncharted is expected to become a dual-motor SUV with 343 PS (338 hp / 252 kW) at its disposal and up to 467 km (290 miles) of range from the same battery. Charging it from 10 to 80 percent full from a NACS-standard 150kW outlet will be possible in 30 minutes. Subaru promises a 0-96.6 km/h (0-60 mph) time of roughly five seconds.

All other numbers remain to be revealed. Trim-wise, a 14-inch infotainment display, two wireless charging pads, heated steering wheel and seats and the EyeSight ADAS package will be included in the base price. AWD Uncharted buyers will additionally get surround-view cameras, a panoramic roof, seat ventilation and X-Mode Grip Control for precise torque management.

Prices are expected to begin from U.S. $30,000.
