The Toyota Aqua small-displacement hatchback is now obtainable with a new package called GR Sport, which brings both aesthetic and technical improvements to the table.
In particular, the power steering has been optimized for better handling. The suspension has been reinforced at both ends, although the rear end still makes do with a basic torsion beam instead of the modern multi-link design some of us had hoped for. A new drive mode called Power+ ensures sharper steering response, turning the Aqua into a more maneuverable car.
The body looks aggressive and sits on exclusive 17-inch wheels shod in Bridgestone Potenza 205/45 R17 tires. The front seats inside benefit from enhanced lateral support and come trimmed in synthetic leather and fabric with GR logos on the headrests. A three-spoke steering wheel, aluminum pedals and dark accents round off the list of changes.
The Aqua GR Sport is front-wheel-drive only and comes equipped with a 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine rated at 91 PS (60 hp / 67 kW) and 120 Nm (89 lb-ft) of torque.
