Jaos works its tuning magic on the Toyota RAV4

As we reported just a few days ago, Toyota Industries will be bringing three customized RAV4 SUVs to the Tokyo Auto Salon opening in two weeks. Well, now it looks like another Japanese tuning company, Jaos, wants a slice of the same pie.

Jaos will be attending the same trade show with its own take on the RAV4 Adventure. It focuses on looks and introduces only mild mechanical tweaks. Changes start on the outside with flared fenders, side sill extensions, pillar trims and bumper inserts. Those who want some extra bling may pay a premium for “carbon-style” door handle and fuel lid garnishes.

There’s also a watertight trunk tray on the list for those planning on doing some actual adventuring, as well as new suspension springs and shock absorbers lifting the SUV by 20–25 mm (0.8–1”). Once lifted, the car can be retrofitted with smaller 17-inch wheels wrapped in bigger all-terrain tires. Last but not least, you can go for branded mud flaps available in red and black colors.

All prices are already available on the tuner’s website. The entire kit listed above costs roughly $5,400 in USD, a sizeable chunk to add to the RAV4 Adventure sticker price of $28,800 in Japan. As is often the case, Jaos neglected to mention whether the kit will be available for ordering from overseas, so you’ll have to ask them yourself if interested.
