China’s largest electrified crossover SUV – the Xpeng GX – should soon go on sale, so let’s check out its cabin photos in the meantime.
The interior will look largely familiar to anyone who has seen a Chinese luxury SUV designed for the domestic market. The front panel accommodates a fairly small digital dash display and a large 17.3-inch head unit. The rear seat occupants get a still-larger ceiling-mounted TV, and the standard audio system on board comprises a whopping 33 speakers.
The seats in the middle row are particularly deluxe with 16-point massage, heating and advanced power adjustment features. In turn, the rear row folds down to form a level floor. Xpeng doesn’t mention the minimum trunk size, but at 5,265 millimeters (207.3 inches) long, it shouldn’t be a concern. Feature-wise, the SUV comes with AI-controlled immersive lighting and near-instant rear window dimming for the privacy-minded.
In earlier news, we learned that the SUV would be available in hybrid and BEV flavors. The former has a combined output of 654 PS (645 hp / 481 kW) and can do 320 km (199 miles) in all-electric mode. The all-electric version packs 585 PS (577 hp / 430 kW) and doesn’t run out of charge until 750 km (466 miles) as long as you opt for the biggest available battery. It’s also a decent sprinter for its size, hitting 100 km/h (62 mph) from standstill in four seconds flat.
Once it lands on the showroom floors, the Xpeng GX will primarily be competing against the Li L9 and the Nio ES9.
