Zeekr 9X collects 10,000 preorders in 13 minutes

Zeekr has launched its new part-electric flagship SUV, the 9X, in its domestic region. Despite shedding some of the price since the original announcement, it still went on sale with a cool 465,900-Yuan sticker ($65,440). The company has now reported receiving 10,000 confirmed preorders within just 13 minutes from launch.

Coming in at 5,239 mm (204.7 in) long with 3,169 mm (123.8 in) between the axles, the 9X is even bigger than the Mercedes-Benz GLS, no name an example. It is strictly a six-seater by design and has many luxury options included in the base trim.

For the powertrain, the 9X uses a 2.0-liter engine and multiple e-motors. Depending on their count, the combined power output varies from 897 PS (885 hp / 660 kW) to 1,401 PS (1,382 hp / 1,030 kW). Once fully charged, the SUV has between 300 and 380 km (186–236 miles) of all-electric range. Sprinting from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) is a matter of 3.9 seconds in the base spec and 3.1 seconds in the flagship spec.

There is also a particularly deluxe trim package that comes in all black and starts from 599,900 CNY ($84,260). That’s 40,000 CNY more expensive than the previously announced Hyper trim, believed to be the most expensive on the lineup.

Zeekr promises to begin deliveries of most 9X variants in just a few days, but certain modifications will take a month or so to arrive.
