We know that the Dodge Hornet Concept that Stellantis Group first unveiled in the distant year 2006 will reach the mass market soon. According to Mopar Insiders, it will be available with a plug-in hybrid powertrain, among other options.
This would make it the first home-charged Dodge in history. The source claims it will combine a 2.0-liter turbo-four mill burning gasoline with an electric motor and a sizeable traction battery. No specifics are available, unfortunately. As an alternative, a mild-hybrid might also be offered based on a 1.5-liter four-pot turbocharged to around 200 horsepower (150 kilowatts).
The Dodge Hornet is scheduled for launch in the fall of 2022, which means it could premiere very soon – possibly in late 2021 or early 2022.
