Peugeot 208 wins European Car of the Year award

The 2020 European Car of the Year award goes to the second generation of the Peugeot 208 supermini hatchback. The marque had previously won this competition in 2002 (Peugeot 307), 2014 (Peugeot 308 5-door hatchback), and 2017 (3008 SUV).

The jury board included 60 media reporters from more than 20 countries. The final vote awarded 281 rating points to the French supermini, netting it the winner’s place. The Tesla Model 3 came second, and the Porsche Taycan third.

Last year’s prize was claimed by Jaguar I-Pace, which has managed to pull ahead of the mid-engined Alpine A110 during the secondary vote.
