Gunther Werks Porsche 911 “Sting” hits the highway and the racetrack

Gunther Werks, a company specializing in the restoration of older Porsche 911 models, has released pics and a half-an-hour video dedicated to its latest project, “Sting”. Watch it, you’ll like it!

Legendary photographer Larry Chen did the photoshoot, and Hoonigan AutoFocus posted the video. In both, the vivid-yellow coupe wears custom bodywork and kit and comes powered by a 4.0-liter Rothsport Racing six-cylinder rated at 400 hp (298 kW).

The team did everything to minimize the weight of the car, leaving only a couple of bucket seats, a roll cage, a fire extinguishing system, and some lightweight trimming materials. As a result, the curb weight fell as low as 1,130 kg (2,490 lbs).

Gunther does not explicitly state how much such a conversion is worth, but the Gunther Werks Porsche 400R that emerged earlier in a series of 25 units flaunted a $525,000 price tag. The Sting is unique and even better equipped, so it has to be even more expensive.
