Isn’t the Speedart SP92-500+ a better alternative to the Carrera Convertible?

Those buying the new Gen.992 Porsche Carrera have three basic choices: to go for an admittedly rather tame €110,000 base spec, to pay €15,000 extra for an S version, or to go all-out and grab a €138,000 4S top spec. Is it really worth it when you can tune, though?

Speedart seems to have a rather appealing offer with its SP92-500+ upgrade kit. It includes everything from badass looks to a healthy performance boost, and improves aerodynamics with the help of two spoiler parts. The pop-up spoiler in the back can still go in and out after you put the extra bits on it. Lowering springs help minimize ride height, and 21-inch lightweight Fox Evo II rims ensure that your unsprung mass stays minimal on the track.

The flat-six engine under the hood gets a push that takes it to 485 PS (478 hp / 357 kW) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque. This alone makes the regular Carrera 992 more powerful than the stock 4S, and more torque-y than the formidable GT3. The top speed goes up 9 km/h (5 mph) to 300 km/h (186 mph), and sprinting from zero to 200 km/h (124 mph) becomes full two seconds faster. Options include an active-valve exhaust system and an interior makeover.

The best part, however, is that the Speedart SP92-500+ kit starts from mere €4750, making it a tempting offer compared to what Porsche offers from the factory.

Don’t you agree?

Joe

I do agree. I feel that the value of the concept alone is priceless. It's badass
