The 1969 Dodge Charger CAPTIV by Ringbrothers is a fine work of art

Wisconsin-based auto restoration shop Ringbrothers has graced the world with another finely restored classic, this time around a 1969 Charger running on Hellcat Mopar V8 power.

The custom one-off goes by the name CAPTIV and was commissioned by Greg Murphy, a sportsman, racing pro and celebrity from New Zealand. With a track record of dozens of motorsport victories, he knew exactly what he wanted done with this car and even took care to disassemble and prepare it for the restoration prior to shipping.

The Wisconsin team then replaced some of the bodywork, installed an aftermarket exhaust system, painted the exterior in deep yellow and put HRE wheels into the arches (19” front, 20” rear).

Things get even more interesting under the hood, where a 6.2-liter supercharged Hellcat V8 pumps out 717 PS (707 hp / 527 kW). A six-speed Tremec manual drives the rear wheels, and the driveshaft is made from carbon fiber. The suspension system features adjustable shocks, while Baer brakes make use of six-piston calipers.

Rounding off the impressive build is a completely remade interior with Recaro bucket seats and a unique steering wheel made to order with aluminum spokes and a carbon rim. Unlike the car itself – which is a one-off – you can actually order this or a similar wheel design from Ringbrothers if you like it.
