2023 Honda Civic Type R goes on sale in Europe, finally

Four months after the premiere, the new generation of the Honda Civic Type R is now on sale in Europe with all the specifications and prices on display.

The hot hatch comes powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine rated at 329 PS (324 hp / 242 kW), 10 hp higher than the predecessor and 1 hp below the latest JDM spec. The torque now amounts to 420 Nm (310 lb-ft), up 20 Nm from the old generation. Six-speed manual transmission and front-wheel drive remain without alternatives at the moment. The curb weight went from 1,380 to 1,429 kilograms, but the car is slightly faster than it was: the standard sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) now takes 5.4 seconds instead of 5.7. The acceleration is called at 275 km/h (171 mph), up from 272 km/h (169 mph).
