Video: New 911 Turbo S vs. 1000-HP M5 vs. 800-HP RS3

CarWOW has invited an owner of the newest Porsche 911 (992) Turbo S to a drag race against two seriously modded sedans: an Audi RS3 and a BMW M5.

The 911 Turbo S previously showed great results racing against the likes of Ferrari 812 Superfast, Lamborghini Aventador SVJ, and McLaren 720S. Its 3.75-liter turbocharged flat-six engine pumps out 650 PS (641 hp / 478 kW) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque. An eight-speed PDK transmission sends the momentum to both axles. The car comes in at 1,650 kg (around 3,640 lbs) and starts from £156,000 in the UK.

Both tuned rides stem from Eventuri Evolve Automotive. Both sport new intake and exhaust systems, as well as upmarket turbochargers, gearboxes and semi-slick tires (as opposed to the OEM tires on the Turbo S).

The 2.5-liter turbo five-banger of the RS3 doubled its power and torque output from 400 PS (394 hp / 294 kW) and 480 Nm (354 lb-ft) to 800 PS (788 hp / 588 kW) and 950 Nm (701 lb-ft). It weighs in at around 1.5 metric tons (3,300 lbs), and costs £45,000 original and £70,000+ modded.

The M5 got to keep its twin-turbo V8, but its power went through the roof with 1,000 PS (986 hp / 735 kW) and 1,100 Nm (811 lb-ft) reported by the tuner. A used F90 M5 will set you back £60,000 in the UK, but opt for a new 2021 M5 Competition, and you will be looking at spending £102,000. The tuning kit tops things off with another £30,000.

Watch the video and be prepared to some curiously inconsistent results. The fastest ride manages to cover the quarter-mile strip in under 10 seconds, but none lags more than 0.3s behind the others.
