Auto Show
China-based automotive startup Human Horizons has come to the Auto China show with the production-ready version of its HiPhi X model. The company believes the electric SUV establishes its very own market segment called “TechLuxe”, bringing together state-of-the-art technologies and luxury.
Powering the electric car are dual motors installed one per axle and rated at 299 hp (222 kW) each. The SUV needs 3.9 seconds to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) from standstill. It commands a large 97-kWh battery NEDC-rated for between 550 and 630 kilometers (342 – 391 miles) of range. It is 5.2 meters (17.06 ft.) long, 1,990 mm (6.53 ft.) wide and 1,618 mm (5.31 ft.) tall with aerodynamic drag as low as 0.27.
The Founders Edition will be the first to hit the market priced starting from 680,000 Chinese Yuan (ca. $100,000 USD) for the six-seater version and nearly 800,000 CNY ($117,500 USD) for the four-seater version. The first 3,000 customers will be getting what the company calls “a lifetime warranty”.
The HiPhi X will be produced in limited amounts until the end of 2020 and will only go on sale next year.
