Watt Electric Vehicle, an automotive startup, plans on storming the EV segment of the market with its first production car, the Watt Coupe. Here are some photos of its pre-production study, which the company uses to test bodywork, units, and powertrain.
The UK-based company has been founded by Neil Yates, a widely known designer of exotic sports cars.
The Watt Coupe appears to be an original creation that does not mimic any one car in particular, but its 1950s-era style leans a bit towards the Porsche 356. A single electric motor sits on the rear axle, and a 40-kWh battery stores up enough current for 370 kilometers (230 miles) of WLTP-rated range.
Powering the car is a PACES skateboard chassis made with FlexTech technology. The company claims it lacks complex cast metal parts and other expensive components or materials, and therefore lends itself well to a wide range of vehicles from sports cars to buses.
