Amalgam, a famous producer of painstakingly detailed vehicle replicas, has released a 1:18 representation of the iconic Aston Martin DB5 Vantage. The asking price is a cool $21,995.
The British automaker itself helped with the design and provided blueprints from the archives, old project documentation and paint color codes. They even let Amalgam scan an original car in 3D to get a better idea of its structure.
Only 199 such replicas will be made. Owners of real DB5 models get a unique offer: for $28,895, they can order a precise imitation of their own vehicle, complete with accurately matched body finish and interior trim. When put together, the model is around 50 cm (20 inches) long. Every example is assembled by hand using metallic and carbon components.
