The R8 is Audi’s closest thing to a supercar, but the automaker has other high-performance vehicles in its portfolio, notably including the latest RS 3 and RS Q8. Matt Watson of Carwow decided to see how the three compare in straight-line acceleration.
An important note must be made here that neither of the R8’s rivals in the video is stock. Both were tuned up a bit to even out the odds somewhat. The RS 3 gets 550 PS (542 hp / 404 kW) and 730 Nm (538 lb-ft) of torque out of its 2.5-liter turbocharged five-cylinder engine. A seven-speed DCT carries the torque to all four wheels.
In turn, the RS Q8 gets 710 PS (700 hp / 522 kW) and 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) of torque out of its 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8. The transmission is eight-speed automatic, and both axles are active.
The R8 V10 Spyder approaches the start line in stock form, its 5.2-liter V8 producing 620 PS (612 hp / 456 kW) and 580 Nm (428 lb-ft) of torque. Like the RS 3, it has a seven-speed DCT driving all four wheels.
What order do you think the three Audis will finish in? Venture a guess and watch the races!
