Drag Race: Bentley’s Continental GT vs. Flying Spur

Carwow has decided to compare a Bentley Continental GT against a Flying Spur saloon on a 402-meter (quarter-mile) straight-line section.

Both models rely on the same six-liter, twin-turbo W12 for propulsion, which sends the torque to all four wheels through an eight-speed DCT. The Flying Spur gets 635 PS (626 hp / 467 kW) and the Continental GT benefits from a factory tune to 659 PS (650 hp / 485 kW).

The Grand Tourer is also lighter of foot with only 2,273 kg (5,011 pounds) of own weight, while the Flying Spur is 164 kg (361 lbs) heavier.

Last but not least, the Continental GT featured in the video is not just a run-of-the-mill example, but a rare Le Mans edition dedicated to the brand’s victory in the famous endurance race in 2003. The special series consisted of 48 vehicles styled to resemble the Bentley Speed 8 that won the 2003 Le Mans marathon in its own vehicle class.
