New BMW M2 CS lands in Germany with a €115k+ price tag

BMW has unveiled the most extreme modification in its M2 lineup, the CS. Priced from €115,000 on its domestic market, it commands a hefty 50% premium over the base M2.

Starting with the 3.0-liter inline-six turbo under the hood, it now outputs 530 PS (523 hp / 390 kW) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque. That’s a healthy upgrade over the original’s 480 PS (473 hp / 353 kW) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft). Manual transmission isn’t on the menu, so the car relies on an M Steptronic eight-speed automatic gearbox to send the momentum to the rear wheels. After some fine-tuning, the drivetrain now maxes out the torque from 2,650 all the way to 5,730 RPM.

The M2 CS sprints from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.8 seconds, 0.2 seconds faster than the regular version. It also reaches 200 km/h (124 mph) in 11.7 seconds, which is 1.2 seconds faster than a stock M2, and needs mere 3.4 seconds to bridge the gap from 80 to 120 km/h (50–75 mph).

The M Driver’s Package is included with the car as standard, meaning it can attain a top speed of 302 km/h (188 mph). The regular M2 maxes out at 285 km/h (177 mph).
