23 years ago, BMW unveiled an M3 E46 Touring model, but it was fated to forever remain a unique concept car. Years later, tuners took matters into their own hands and came up with a convincing replica that is now being offered on Suchen Mobile for a cool €56,000.
An uncredited tuning company took a 2000 BMW 320i Touring and rebuilt it from the ground up using a number of more recent M3 Coupe parts. The car wound up with an aftermarket front splitter, rear diffuser, exhaust tips and 19-inch Japan Racing JR21 wheels, but other than that, it has stayed true to the original design and even looks a bit like what BMW could have produced itself at one point.
Power for the build comes from BMW’s 3.2-liter inline-six engine, which went from naturally aspirated to supercharged and is said to output 575 PS (567 hp / 423 kW) now – nearly twice as much as the original.
Other noteworthy modifications include low sports suspension and a practical, roomy cabin with hardly any creature comforts or excesses of the modern era.
The $60k asking price may seem like much, but it is worth mentioning that the latest M3 Touring (G81) starts from €101,300 in Germany before any options.
