AC Schnitzer announces extensive aftermarket options for the new BMW M5

The famous German tuner will be releasing lots of parts and accessories for the M5 sedan (G90) and Touring (G99), improving the looks, the handling, the aero and the engine. Most parts are still in development, though, so all pricing details and availability dates are pending.

Starting with the powertrain, it’s not like the new M5 is underpowered with its 727 PS (717 hp / 535 kW). Still, a boost to 811 PS (800 hp / 596 kW) courtesy of little else than an ECU tune and a sports exhaust system should be welcome, considering the high curb weight of the hybrid. You get dual 110mm (4.3-inch) tailpipes as a bonus and can opt for special springs to drop the ride height by 20 mm (0.8”).

Aerodynamic improvements include a new front splitter, side winglets and skirts, rear spoiler and diffuser. Sedan owners will be choosing between a lip spoiler and a rear wing.

For the wheels, the new M5 will be the first AC Schnitzer vehicle to ride on its own AC6 forged wheels. Featuring a five-Y-spoke design, the ultralight rims offer an unobstructed view of your performance brake calipers. If you wish, you can order the wheels with a ceramic coating for an extra sheen.

The interior makes do with the usual AC Schnitzer stuff, like aluminum pedal pads, a footrest, an aluminum trim for the iDrive controller, mats and other such trifles.
