Latest BMW M5 CS gets pushed to 1,000 PS

Infinitas, a tuning company based in Gachenbach, Germany, has unveiled a rather extreme BMW F90 M5 CS with supercar-rivaling power and acceleration.

The stock version of the car commands 635 PS (626 hp / 467 kW), but the tune-up persuades it to output 1,000 PS (986 hp / 735 kW). The torque simultaneously goes from 750 to 1,200 Nm (from 553 to 885 pound-feet, respectively). To achieve this, the stock 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 gets new ceramic-housed turbos for better heat resistance, forged pistons and connecting rods, revised fuel and exhaust systems and a thoroughly recalibrated ECU.

Once tuned, the saloon can reach a top speed of 350 km/h (217 mph), and Infinitas boasts that it’s actually artificially capped there for safety reasons.

The big downside for some is that this tuning package is not street-legal due to emissions. If you would like to daily a car like this, the company offers a slightly simpler kit rated at 900 PS (888 hp / 661 kW) and 1,100 Nm (811 lb-ft).

There are also visual tweaks, but they are tasteful and minimal. A full package will set you back roughly €40,000 in Germany, VAT included, or €35,000 if you want the street-legal one.
