According to BMWBlog, the Bavarian automaker is looking for new ways to trim down its ICE car lineup, and the X4 coupe-SUV may be the next one to go due to its lacking popularity.
In the near future, the company will allegedly replace the X4 with the all-electric BMW iX4 based on an innovative platform known as the Neue Klasse. The platform will be ready by 2025 and will also be used for the next-generation 3-Series/X3.
The manufacturer mentioned that the battery would gain around one-third of its current capacity while losing 20% of weight, becoming 33% cheaper to manufacture and producing 60% less emissions.
