Changan Qiyuan A06 announced in China

Following its announcement in May this year, the all-electric liftback known as the Changan Qiyuan A06 (a.k.a. Nevo A06) is no longer a mystery now. It will only go on sale in China in 2026, but we may take a look at the specs in the meantime.

The Qiyuan A06 is Changan’s first vehicle to take advantage of the SDA platform featuring dual-wishbone front and five-link rear suspension. It’s a low-drag car with a drag ratio of 0.217, a body length of 4,885 mm, width of 1,917 mm and height of 1,496 mm. The wheelbase spans 2,922 mm, and there are two trunks – a 656-liter one in the back and a 108-liter one under the “hood”.

Of course, it’s not a real hood, because the car has an 800V electric system on board. Carbide-silicon components enable it to reach 6C charging rate, which means the battery can theoretically be charged to the max up to six times in a single hour. Putting it simpler, Changan promises 1 kilometer of range gained per every second plugged in. Getting the battery from 30 to 80% will take 9 minutes, and getting it from 10 to 80% is a matter of only 12 minutes.

Customers will be choosing from two e-motors, one rated at 163 PS (161 hp / 120 kW) and the other one at 286 PS (282 hp / 210 kW). The faster option will take the hatchback from standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in six seconds flat, Changan says. Batteries will be available in three sizes: 42.12, 51.48 and 63.18 kilowatt-hours. Their respective ranges are being estimated at 420, 510 and 630 kilometers.

A range-extender hybrid variant will be added to the lineup later, combining the 163-PS motor mentioned above with a 28.39-kWh battery pack and a 1.5-liter, naturally aspirated engine acting as a generator. This one will offer up to 180 km of all-electric range, per the manufacturer.

Trim-wise, the car will ship with a 10.25-inch standard digital dash, a 15.6-inch infotainment system running on MTK8676 hardware and a single wireless charger for gadgets. 256-color ambient lighting, panoramic sunroof and an ADAS package will be listed under options. A roof-mounted LiDAR, three millimeter-range radars, 12 ultrasonic radars and 11 cameras will work together to deliver a Level 2 semi-autonomous driving experience.
