Changan Uni-Z ICE pricing revealed for China

Changan has launched the non-electrified Uni-Z in China. Starting from just 99,900 CNY, it is more affordable than the hybrid launched in the early spring (see video).

According to Autohome.cn, the new car utilizes a 1.5-liter petrol turbo unit to drive the wheels with 188 PS (185 hp / 138 kW) and 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) of torque via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. All-wheel drive is absent from the list, but the car can hit 200 km/h (124 mph) and needs 7.8 seconds to reach 100 km/h (62 mph). It consumes 6.87 liters of gas per 100 km on average, which corresponds to 34.2 miles per U.S. gallon.

On its domestic maker of China, the gas-powered Changan Uni-Z will be offered in three trims priced up to 119,900 CNY. Depending on your chosen configuration, it may ship with an infotainment display 10.25 or 14.6 inches large, surround view cameras, HVAC + ionizer, and ventilated power seats. All kinds of ADAS are also available, along with such nice extras as 19-inch wheels, roof rails, and LED lights.

The hybrid variant of the car costs approximately 27,000 CNY more in China. Its petrol engine is fairly weak at 98 PS (97 hp / 72 kW), but receives assistance from an electric motor for a total of 215 PS (212 hp / 158 kW) and 330 Nm (243 lb-ft) of torque. It looks nearly the same as the ICE version, but with a different tailpipe design.
