Car Tuning
Texas-based car tuner Hennessey Performance has complemented its lineup of 1,000-horsepower cars with a Corvette ZR1 HPE that looks like it might just eat the upcoming C8 ZR1 for breakfast.
The seventh generation debuted five years ago, meaning its engine is still at the front. It is a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 mill rated at 765 PS (755 hp / 563 kW) straight from the factory.
Hennessey offers two upgrades from here. One includes a new intake system, catalytic converters and an ECU, among other things. The result is a boost to 862 PS (850 hp / 634 kW) and 1,152 Nm (850 lb-ft) of torque.
Stage II takes things further with modified cylinder headers, valves and distribution shaft. Once applied, it raises the power to 1,014 PS (1,000 hp / 746 kW) and 1,309 Nm (965 lb-ft) of torque. This makes it more powerful than the C8 ZR1 rumored to be coming in 2024 with 850 horsepower or so.
