Icon 4x4 rolls out restored & modded Old School Edition Thriftmaster

The restomod fad is still on the rise in the United States, and this latest example by Icon 4x4 is one of the finest.

The talented tuner team tackled a venerable Chevrolet Thriftmaster farm truck that belonged to the Advance-Design series dating back as far as 1947. They began by stripping it down to the bare frame and restoring the entire body from scratch. The exterior received a historically conscious dual-tone paintjob of olive-green and off-white. Each wheel received its own suspension, and Brembo brakes were installed to ensure proper deceleration.

Powering the build is the crowd favorite, the 430hp / 321kW Chevrolet LS3 V8 linked to a four-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The cabin trim involves African teakwood, stainless-steel accents and fine leather. The abundance of modern comfort features precludes complete historical accuracy, but the main stylistic features of the original Chevy truck are all carefully preserved.

The pricing details behind the Old School Edition Thriftmaster aren’t public information.
