Stellantis rolls out a whole dozen of e-vans

Stellantis Group has previewed as many as 12 commercial vans planned for production in the next few years. The lineup includes both ICE and EV vans set to debut under Citroen, Fiat, Opel, and Peugeot badges. Some of these are slated to reach the showrooms next year.

The buyers will get three standard sizes to choose from. The smallest electric vans will be capped at 330 km (205 miles) of range, which the corporation calls class-leading. The mid-size models will pack larger 65-kWh batteries and offer up to 350 km (217 miles). The biggest vans will pack 110 kWh of power storage and run 420 km (261 miles) on a charge.

Some mid- and full-size models will benefit from fuel-cell powertrains giving them 400 and 500 km (248 and 310 miles) of range, respectively. Stellantis argues that the main advantage of using fuel cells in commercial transports is the reduced refueling time. For example, charging the biggest electric van from a high-power outlet may easily take a whole hour under normal conditions; filling up hydrogen tanks takes five minutes.

The entire lineup of Stellantis commercial vans will benefit from upgraded electronics in the nearest future. This means new and extended driving assist features, a better infotainment system with a 10-inch screen, and over-the-air updates.

The specific models mentioned in the press release are Citroen Berlingo, Jumpy, and Jumper, Fiat Doblo, Scudo, and Ducato, Opel (Vauxhall) Combo, Vivaro, and Movano, as well as Peugeot Partner, Expert, and Boxer.
