The Carwow team keeps its drag racing matches reasonably entertaining thanks to regularly inviting owners of tuned cars, SUVs, and other unlikely contestants. Still, a new video takes a welcome detour from the drag strip and straight into the dirt.
The first contender here is a Land Rover Defender 110 X armed with a three-liter diesel six-pot rated at 300 PS (296 hp / 221 kW) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission drives all four wheels. As capable as the Def is away from well-paved roads, it is not exactly a lightweight SUV at 2,340 kg (5,160 lbs).
The Dacia Duster is a way more affordable soft-roader powered by a 1.5-liter turbo four-cylinder producing 115 PS (113 hp / 85 kW) and 260 Nm (192 lb-ft) of torque. It uses a six-speed manual transmission and benefits from being only 1,405 kg (3,100 lbs) heavy.
Do you think the Dacia can take the fight to the Land Rover?
